When I first subscribed to the LUG many years ago I assumed Eric Welch was 
the list owner. He seemed to feel himself honour bound to reply to every 
post.

No, probably the other guy ... Eric Welch or something like that. He 
started as a journalist in Missouri and went on to be an editor of a 
catalogue of gems or something like that. Color management was very 
important.
