Result verification - the digital equivalent of being using a Polaroid to verify exposure, etc., is one of the great advantages and joys of digital. The term "chimping" refers to using a digital camera as a chimpanzee presumably would if you handed it a digital camera - shoot, look;shoot, look; shoot, look, ad infinitum - missing shots all the while.
