Perhaps you've imported or exported preferences or the file is damaged? I would guess that an uninstall/reinstall may not actually delete your saved preferences and then re install them with the new prog install? Try Restore factory defaults in the settings menu? Walt, I have the same scanner without seeing this problem. Could you have changed the default location for the settings information in your preferences? I'll have a play and see if I can duplicate this. Has anyone (besides me) had an error message on their Coolscan V saying something like "failed to write to settings file"? I've been up one side of the machine and down the other, to no avail. Reinstalled Nikon Scan with latest version (4.02) and it still gives the error message. The machine works and the negatives are scanned but the message appears every time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Walt _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
