So if you scanned both on the same scanner, I simply don't understand. Perhaps there is more camera movement with the Rolleiflex shots? (I always found the Rolleiflex very awkward to hand-hold). Regardless of the above, if your scanner is capable of producing 16-bit images, you should scan in 16-bit. It will give you much more flexibility when post-processing.
