I too have an XG-1, the standard 1.8 and the older 1.4 MC-Rokkor and various bits Problem has tended to be the meter which seems difficult to fix once wrong. Minolta optics were always good - otherwise there would have been no CL/E. The Rokkors were stunning on colour transparencies, I used them from the mid-70s on HS Ektachrome. They are pretty **** good on prints too; for B&W I have had a lot of difficulty getting them to compare with the results from Leicas but I suspect that since I always used them with colour I have a subconcious way of looking/exposing as if for colour. For the finder get yourself a Russian multi-turret or its Leica equivalent. Kills several birds...The turret goes for the equivalent of about $100 over here in Exc condition. The Leica is predictably nore expensive and often not in good condition. Peter PS My SRT101 still shoots great pix too ;-) Kenneth Frazier wrote: > First, I need a 35mm finder for my IIIf.
