"I would appreciate though, some opinions on the best value of the options from circa 1954", and IMHO still today! Salud! Unless they have that 777 stuff that you are fond of? Back on the M3's I had a passing notion about acquiring a period appropriate 50 to use with it. That was shortly before pricing the current summilux asph to replace my current Summicron (on the M7). Yikes. Maybe it makes sense to use the current Summicron for both. I would appreciate though, some opinions on the best value of the options from circa 1954. I don't know the developer, I've head problems on the last films I've developed at home, here the water is very "hard" and contains many spots and calcius and I give my films to a professional Lab. Thank you very much for looking Jeffery! I tend to agree more with "The magical power of the 50mm". Although I used a 35mm as a standard lens for decades, the 50 works better for people shots unless you are willing and able to get right in their faces. What did you use for film/developer in these? I realize that when I only take the M3 with the 50 I compose the pictures on a different manner than when I go with more equipment or with other M's, you are forced to be concentrated on only one way of visual effort. I have posted the first 7 pictures (the first two rangs) you can find on: http://www.photo.net/photodb/folder.tcl?folder_id=554353 Except the two first that I'm not sure if I've used the Elmar 50, the other 5 are with the Summicron 50. All of them are take in Barcelona last August. Thanks in advance for looking, commenting and critics Saludos desde Barcelona Luis _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
