That's not what Nikon had in mind - they want to lock in their data formats. You appear to think that's a fine idea - I think it's abhorent. My opinion of standards bodies is that they seldom make a better product and are dominated by self-protective vested interests who are protecting their own turf and much less interested in making a good product or even a product at all! It's the worst case of design-by-committee. I assume you have some issue with inclusion in DNG - what is missing? I believe the standard is flexible.
