I had to laugh with the historic interpretation of the theme by some  
participants, too.
The procession is in 2 parts: first a commerial part, where treats  
are indeed dispersed in massive quantities which makes kids go crazy,  
the 2nd part is a competition between the several social  
'entities' (one of them is called 'the Union of Poultry Breeders' :-)  
of our village, to get the prize of best group. There is also a Queen  
of the Grapes selection, but that takes place today. She's usually  
very blonde, very ugly, and very stupid...
