On the M7 and earlier it gets interesting. I can't see the secondary pointer on the dial. I've only seen the illustration, of course, not the hardware. I see that there is a second dial for parallax correction. Also a very neat little bubble level. Really this is an interesting bit of hardware. My initial impression was that it was quite bulky. However when you consider the five frame lines for wide lens, I think it is pretty clever. Certainly for guys that use those wides a great deal. (to state the bleeding obvious) I think if I had a need (could justify!) wider than the 28 for a film M this combination is awfully attractive. Bring it on. Think about heading out to do the landscapey thing with one of each Tri Elmars and your trusty film M. 16, 18, 21, 28, 35, 50. Add the macro 90 and you would be king of the f4 world. Also in debt for a thousand years. It really seems as though Solms have hit just the right notes to excite M folk. I'd make special mention there of the new compact 28 asph. Given the posted prices I can see this one being very popular for all M'ophiles. You do have to set the 'equivalent' field of view (or use the secondary pointer on the dial so thoughtfully provided).
