Lew,
I have a classic and years go by on a set of batteries.  I probably average
three rolls a week so 75-150 rolls on the conservative side.  But, the
camera doesn't live in a bag very much, usually it is on my shoulder or
stored near to hand on the floor of a car or near a desk so the shutter
release doesn't get pushed by the bag.
