Can't you just see these as fine art prints with lots of DMax on a matte paper? Thanks also for the reference to the 4990 holders. I have one I use for MF mainly and other scan duties. Did I miss something in there that you used for the 35mm film? I'd still like to get a real high-end film scanner, but Doug's film holder certainkly improves the flatbed's performance.
