I think it must have been some change to bit depth or similar on my computer. I may have gone from another site to yours and the viewer was still at a low bit setting. Sometimes my image viewing default program resets to Microsoft Office Document image instead of Photoshop after updates. Anyway they all look just fine now, so the problem was at this end!
