I wish my M6's had that feature. I've taken a few flash pics with my CV 21/4 (external VF more-or-less required), so I used a Vivitar 285 and the little cord that fits into the sync socket. I also like using a CV 28mm metal finder when I shoot with the 28/2. I'd much rather have used my more convenient SF24, but the M6TTL had a "shoe deficit."
