[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]Greg - Pardon me if others have already covered this stuff; I just poked into the LUG and saw some responses to your post. My wife & I have spent quite a bit of time in Big Sur (we got married on a cliff there in 2000; my wife is so charmed by my efforts to get back there for our anniversary every year, and the fact that the date consistently falls suspiciously close to the Laguna Seca/Concours weekend obviously has nothing to do with it...) If you get to the area the Lucia Lodge often has reasonable accommodations south of Carmel. Ditto Deetjin's, which is also very good for dinner. Do lunch out on the patio at Nepenthe. Drive up Nascimiento Rd late in the afternoon and bring a pod. (In fact, we once got caught in the middle of a group of vintage Ferraris doing a casual hillclimb up that road for many miles It was pretty great, although the rented Mustang convertible was a bit of an embarassment.) I'll dig around the drives for a snap or two. By the way, the 90mm view tends to be pretty effective around that area... Bob Palmieri
