We have "Bead Stores" here, where you could select beads of different colours, and cut them in half, and glue them on. e.g. Zeiss uses blue. I used epoxy on mine, for a 50mm f1.4 ASPH. Funny, I've never encountered losing the red dot on my classical lenses, dating back from the 50's, yet now I read about frequent loss of the dot on the newer lenses. I wouldn't think Leica would have lost the recipe on gluing the red dot. Or maybe the old red dots were threaded and screwed into their mounts? I never thought to check. regards Vick -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+vick.ko=sympatico.ca@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+vick.ko=sympatico.ca@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Ric Carter Sent: Tuesday, June 27, 2006 11:55 PM To: Leica Users Group Subject: [Leica] lost the dot - help Where, oh where, has my little dot gone? Oh where, oh where, can it be? Damned if I know, it's not in the bottom of my bag. I didn't realize how much I depended on that little red button on my Elmarit 28. Advice on replacing it? Where do I get one? Is there a good substitute I should use instead? What kind of glue should I use? Thanks. Ric _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
