The Contax G Sonnar 90/2.8 is an excellent, compact lens that would be very nice in an M mount. No need for a major redesign. This is a grab shot I got of an ibis in Audubon Park a few years back using the Contax G 90/2.8 Sonnar. http://www.400tx.com/ibis.html It is a very small 90. I think Photodo has it rated on a par with the 90/2.8 Elmar. The price that Zeiss wanted for their new lens made it certain to be a flop except for Zeissaholics. Yikes, and they want MORE than the price of a Summicron 90 ASPH for it. Apparently quite a big lens and not a good balance on an M. I have a Contax 1.4 85 in N mount and it is a bazooka let me tell you. In fact it was that lens on the N1 that persuaded me I needed to have a big hard look at myself and shoot just with the M. Fine lens, just WAAY too big outfit to tote around for me.
