You just use your old lenses and meter with an external meter. The camera can be set on manual and you move the reading over the old fashioned way. I use all Nikkor lenses on the D100. Only the chipped ones can use the matrix evaluation meter in the camera. The others can meter using a stopped down method or just using an incident light meter and putting the camera on manual.
