I've used during years ID11, in my opinion ID11 or D76 have a more high compensating effect and maybe Rodinal is a little more "cold". D76 and ID11 are very similar, but ID11 has a useful chart of times/temperatures very useful. I have used too HC110 and T-Max developer, but now I only use (or generally) ID11 or Rodinal. My immediate impression is that the grain is not bothersome. I thought it would be. To tell the truth, I don't see a big difference between Rodinal 1:25 and D76. It kind of depends on your subject area. If you have large expanses of midtone grey, then the grain kind of dominates a shot, where the some grain would not in a textured shot. So in 35mm, I really can't see much reason to use Rodinal at all (except that it is nice with a liquid developer). It could be that the effects it can create are diminished by modern emulsions. I don't know ... Daniel On 5/21/06, Jeffery Smith <jsmith342@cox.net> wrote: > Well, they are drying now. I used a 1:50 dilution for 12 min, and the > negatives look plenty dense.
