I haven't had any problems with the carafes of boiled drinking water provided by hotels. Avoid the tap water, even to clean your teeth. Often they will provide bottled water at a small charge. In restaurants I found tea and beer to be safe bets. I forgot to mention the signature room service menu item featured by hotels in the region: whole roasted sheep ("24 hours notice required"). Never tried it myself, as I'm watching my figure. They offer it to discourage self-catering guests from making open-hearth fires in their rooms. rgds Peter.
