I don't know how much the calendar weighs, but let us say 3 pounds incl. packaging. Then we can see here: http://www.usps.com/consumers/domestic.htm#H5 that shipping within the USA ranges from $2.19 to $3.24, depending on the destination. The same 3-pound book package sent to the Netherlands would cost $6.55: http://pe.usps.gov/text/imm/immicl/immiclnr_004.html (scroll down to Economy Mail, Books and Sheet Music Rates). Looking at the rates, there is an advantage in terms of cost per unit in shipping larger quantities, but that advantage would be completely negated by the further cost of shipping the items on to the final destination countries.
