[Leica] About the 50/2.8 Elmar

I assume that you find the contrast of the Elmar to be granite-like. I
prefer it for color as it really *is* high in contrast IMO. Perhaps because
of the relatively few air-glass surfaces.

I'm glad to see that you are David carry *TWO NORMAL LENSES* with you. I
have been carrying a 50/3.5 and a 50/1.4 lately.

Lately, my preferred combination has been the new Elmar-M and the  
Summarit-M. When looking at the negs, it's like going from granite to  
Jello, contrast and sharpness wise. I have a lens carrier mounted on  
an M3 so I can have a choice of lenses, as needed, at hand.
