I tried to photograph an open market in "Little Viet Nam" in New Orleans East. None of them wanted me anywhere near them, probably because they were suspicious of my motives. It's good to see that Luis was able to gain the confidence of those circus performers. Instead of what we see sometimes with circus pictures, the photographer is almost on top of the performers and they never really look happy. :-) In these it's like pictures of people you know, as you say..."your friends." And the pictures show a friendship between them and you not usually seen in these kind of photographs.
