Playing with a new E-500 (OK, I like the conventional SLR form factor
and am thinking that an E-2 is on the way) and the _astonishingly
good_ 11-22mm Zuiko-D lens (thanks for the recommendations, BD), I
concur. If one is starting a digital kit, I'm finding a lot to like
about this 4/3 system and especially Oly glass.

Compared to Canon:

Canon is faster, better in very low light, easier to follow menus,
and of course has an enormous system.

Olympus has lenses at least as good as the L glass, better exposure
control, better color, and better in-camera BW performance. Fewer
blown highlights, and less compression on the best quality jpeg files.

Oh, and as BD has said, it is hard to underestimate the value of the
self-cleaning sensor. I'm tired of cleaning the Canon sensor, or
being surprised by 200 shots with splotched sky at the end of an
assignment.

Now, to wait for the Leica zoom or go for the Oly 14-54. Hum...

Did I mention that the 11-22mm is superb?
