[Leica] Bogus M2-R Auction

Hi Seth,

Per Jim Lager: KS-15-4 (aka Military M2-R and M2-S) Serial Number Range 
1163150-1163770 & 1164046-1164300.

Also, not per Jim Lager, but from memory:

Additionally, these US Military cameras were specially sealed, the transport 
axle was different and a hidden wire runs inside the camera along the edge 
of the back door.

The back door in one submitted Ebay image was open. No specially sealant 
beyond what my standard M2 has.

The top plate has the standard M2 (not M2-R) script. A military KS-15-4 has 
no special markings on the top plate but this camera is not an KS-15-4.

I too am troubled by the 'sexed up' Ebay description. Can anyone that has 
served in any military, anywhere, imagine that type of organization 'black 
painting' a camera during war time?
