BUT I only scan one transparency at a time and individually adjust pre scan to maximise dynamic range and balance. The only print film I have tried through it is 200asa but the results had poor resolution, something to do with grain aliasing I am assured, but whatever the reason the results were unacceptable, even on medium format. It is possible to get fabulous scans but it takes a long time if you want best results. I tried working hard to get one setting and then scanning everything with it but if I do that lots of the scans are disappointing. The best results I have are from Provia and Velvia. I pretty much only use it to scan my 40 years of existing pictures, a digital original from RD1 gives very much better results in the "digital darkroom" than scanned 35mm film. I have to work hard to get scans from 6x7 as good as a EOS 1Ds mk2 converted RAW file.
