Why has no one tried the best of two worlds? Say a film camera with a  
digital review/optional RAW recording feature? I remember there was a  
Kodak P&S some time ago trying that route.... A Pellix mirror (or a  
beam splitter prism) could be used to record the same moment on both  
media. Don't know if economically feasible or even useful...
