Subject: [Leica] nikon to discontinue most film cameras

I was hoping that scanners would, like laser printers, get faster and
better. And do a whole roll of 35mm film while I watch Seinfeld. I think
that Pacific Image does have a whole-roll scanner, but the reviews of their
scanners are generally in the area of 1 1/2 stars out of 5.

Me too, I bought one a few years ago, concerned that my investment
would be short lived and new better machines would tempt me before
long, but that was the end of it, the market went digital so quickly
once people were satisfied with the quality that I imagine there is
pretty well no market for film scanners.
Mind you good scans take me so long that I often don't have time to
scan as much as I would like. I took 14 rolls of 120 film on my
August holiday and have only scanned 4 frames so far.
