I think the only thing that really worked was the battery check needle line-up, After I got a decent Mimolta CLE my CL tended to stay on the shelf, Why on earth didn't Leica build it. I always hated the strap lugs on the CL too, a silly stiff plastic strap, the camera just isn't heavy enough to hang properly.
