The first brings alive the rush of the crowd and the feeling of an early winter afternoon. (This has to be an afternoon - people stand taller in the morning.) My eye goes straight to the sunlit gal to the left and then moves to the open mouth of the fellow closer to the camera to her left. They're both clearly focused on getting somewhere they really need to be quickly. The stance of the others in the photo emphasizes their rush. While I think the photo would have worked without the shadow of the street lamp, the fact that it's there emphasizes the low sun angle and adds to the mood of the photo. Wonderful! In the second, the use of the crane boom to separate the distinctly different cloud formations is very nice seeing. It is a very pleasing photo. Thanks for the look. >Hi Folks, > >I was up in Washington DC last week for a conference.
