Subject: [Leica] scanner help

I have the same scanner- that IV piece of c***...

Here's what's probably going on- there are several pieces of copper springs
in the scanner that are bent. It's what happened to mine. I took mine apart,
found nothing obviously wrong, but then looked at the film track only to see
that two of the tension springs were in such a position to put too much drag
on the film tray. I removed the problem, so to speak. With long pliers and a
resounding "yank."

Mine too occasionally refuses to feed. Check to make sure that the film
holder is flat- that is, that the door that closes on the film has latched,
and the top of the hinged part is even with the top of the bit that isn't.
This will prevent the film holder from loading.

I'd like a faster scanner- a better one, but for $300, this is a far cry
better than that flatbed Epson I had been using.
