And a larger outer pocket might very well come in handy in a number of situations. But's it's with some regret that I'd leave the canvas behind. I've come to really like the canvas bags. A Domke "little smaller" bag does a great job with my D70 kit. D70 body, 12-24 zoom, 35/2, 85/1.8, SB800, Sekonic 358 meter, maybe a 45/2.8 AI-P, xtra D70 batter and AA's for the SB800. It all fits very, very nicely with pretty much any lens (e.g., the 12-24) mounted on the D70. But for the Leica kit , which get the majority of use and hence lugging around, I like the vertical weight distribution of a satchel. I have CFS/CFIDS, and I kind of feel every ounce, as it were.
