I have been sorely tempted by the *istDs, the combination on size, running on AA's and my also fairly quirky collection of M42 lenses makes it tempting. What keeps me from changing is that I like film, find that spending twenty minutes with a SS tank relaxing, and that I have a very large collection of Canon lenses and adapters to use many other lenses on Canon bodies. I suspect that when the "5D" comes out and prices realign that I will finally make the change to digital. What drives this is film costs. I just did some charity portraits which consumed fifteen rolls of film at $6 each. It doesn't take many of those to buy whatever camera body. Then again, B.D. will be LOL, but if I can hold out for the digital M that would float my boat very nicely indeed. The Epson just does not work for me; I expect a digital camera to advance automatically and I just can not get my brain to tell my thumb to wind the lever after every shot. What make this hysterically funny is that I have no problem switching between Leica and Nikon lenses, between an M and an EOS 1, between a LTM, and M, and a Hasselblad.
