I never saw a histogram of it(and wouldn't know what it was telling me if I had seen one), so your comment about the value of 18 in the histogram goes over my head. I agree that the low contrast area that includes the people is important, but the higher contrast for the bulk of the walls, angles, and window, I think, is also important. I shoot film for B&W, so I care about the print, not the digital file for the internet. The 21mm Color-Skopar has performed very well for me. I think it's a first rate lens.
