Hi,  I don't know if the issue has been resolved but the problem is (and I 
can attest to this) that dust gets behind the bit of glass in the eye piece 
quite easily and I far as I can tell you can't get it out easily.  It 
happens most when the camera is slung over one shoulder and rubs 
continuously on my shirt or jacket.  Shouldn't be much of a problem if you 
use a bag most of the time.
