The problem with buying a used one is that, like digital cameras, the slightly older ones are already obsolete. Speed and memory in PCs are growing and growing. And active matrix displays (which used to add $1,000 to the price of a laptop) are standard on ones for less than $1,000. Check the Office Depot stores in your area. I needed one that was really small, and got a small Mac notebook for $999. I recently saw PC notbooks for about $700. I have to get a PC laptop for some things at work that require it. I was wondering if folks on the list have a recommendation for used laptops or refurbished ones that they could recommend.
