Noise at 46 db is not just noise at 46 db but a direct contact into peoples subconcioness and well being The same apply for smell - I have been working very hard as a publisher to get the "smell of my books" tuned so that they give the most handling and reading pleasure for the buyer - tehre are so many things that can go wrong in the production process and result in an unpleasant smell Same goes with noise - My sekonic 58 meter has a backlight of the display when it gets dark - the light is provided by an oscilator and it mikes a very high toned anoying noise - i do not use the meter in dark areas for the same reason. If only designers and producers would put as much energy into noise and smell controlling their products as the do into marketing the world woul be a lovely place - ps. sorry about typos and words that might not be english :-) cheers Ruben ----- Original Message ----- From: "joelct" <joelct@singnet.com.sg> To: "Leica Users Group" <lug@leica-users.org> Sent: Tuesday, April 26, 2005 10:22 AM Subject: Re: [Leica] MP vs. M6 noise > Mikiro - san > > I am very impressed by your diatribe on Leica 'noise' - even more on your > choice of English words > > Sincerely > > Joseph L / Singapore > > > > --- MIKIRO <miki@arbos.net> wrote: > >> Ted, >> >> I am one of those who have too much time for noise. :-) >> IMHO, such dilettante fetishism is an important niche for Leica to >> survive.
