Thanks for taking the time to comment.  The high key has more to do with
a quick scan at a local lab than any intrinsic contrast in the image.

They are both Keepers, Don - Great shooting. I definitely prefer the
first, however, and would make two suggestions:

Crop it, starting on the left, just to the outside of the young woman in
the foreground's hand, across the top the same amount, and come down on
the right just outside of the prominent young man's raised hand - I
think that will put even more emphasis on the center action, and use
those two strong figures to frame the scene. Also, I'd do whatever I
could to reduce the high-key look. But I'm nit picking - it's a terrific
image. The second photo is nice, but as nice as it is, it doesn't
approach the first, which has just about every element I'd look for in a
"keeper."

This is, by far, my favorite. A very strong picture for sure.
