I recommend Hitachi/ibm sata drives and concur with Brian for not getting the cutting edge capacity models. You can buy 2- or 4-port PCI sata controller card pretty cheap for expansion. Hitachi drives (and the new seagate large capacity sata drives) consume about half power comparing with others and less heat usually means less cooling and may help reliability.
