I've flown in and out of HK many times and never had a problem getting a hand inspection of film. I've always had it packed in ziplock bags without cannisters. Just hand it to the security screener and you shouldn't have a problem. But, I really wouldn't worry at all about a couple passes through the xray scanner. It would take many passes before you'd ever see noticeable effects. Just DON"T put it in your checked luggage.
