Sure, the electronics may die, and the cameras may be expensive to maintain over a long time. But given how little use the average shooter will give these cameras in comparison to what they are designed to do, and given current image quality - particularly the Canons with their incredibly low noise levels - why would anyone figure that in 12-18-24 months they'll need to buy again. It's nonsense. -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Frank Filippone Sent: Tuesday, March 08, 2005 12:16 PM To: Leica Users Group Subject: RE: [Leica] clarification needed: DMR price? Sure it will, if you make up some pixels ( interpolation ) when you do the prints. Of course, who knows where those made up pixels came from. Probably a programmers' desk in some dark corner of an high tech office building. Who said you must have light for photography? I have a buddy that is calling B+H 3-4 times a DAY to get a $5,000 Nikon D2x ( model # ? new digital camera much wanted by not quite ready to ship in volume).... The digital thing is just nuts. The requirement for instant gratification is worse than the Polaroid craze in the 70's. Frank Filippone red735i@earthlink.net Damn, this thing better produce the equivalent of 4x5 chromes for that money. ;-) _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
