And let me preface this by saying that I used a Peizo system for about six years, and I love the results. But I have yet to see any inkhjet prints, other than the 8.5x11s produced by the smaller HP printers, that look like wet prints. Look gorgeous? Yes. Look "real," particularly to the uninitiated? Yes. Look like wet prints. No. Particularly from the 2200 - it just ain't so. -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Feli Sent: Saturday, February 26, 2005 12:12 PM To: Leica Users Group Subject: Re: [Leica] Re:Epson printer On Feb 26, 2005, at 8:28 AM, Christopher Williams wrote: > Prints from an Epson 2200, 7600 or 9600 with the "proper" RIP software > produces B&W images that look just like FB wet prints. Not sure how this is possible. The reason why traditional fiber prints look the way they do is because the print is embedded in the actual paper. With an inkjet print the image sits on top of the paper. Both reflect and scatter the light differently, thus looking different. > This is without those piezo inks, using "off shelf inks". I would be curious to see a print on one of these papers. feli > > HP, Epson, Canon, as long as the Leica print looks great! > > Chris ________________________________________________________ feli2@earthlink.net 2 + 2 = 4 www.elanphotos.com _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
