Precisely - The concept is a terrific one - only time will tell whether
the reality will be. It may well be, sadly, that Canon has made too much
progress with its sensors and its system for anyone to really compete.
On the other hand, there is always the question of how much of a market
the competitors need to meet their goals.

Huh? The 4/3 lens/body system is  interchangeable electronically and 
physically. You will be able to use Panasonic or Fuji lenses with 
Olympus camera bodies and vice versa. Not sure what you are saying.
