The 1DsII produces an image at 1600 iso equal in quality to a fine grain 400 iso film; and it produces an image at 3200 that is exponentially better than any film at that speed. So IF you are a low light shooter, the question is: Would you - a. rather see the image through a brilliant viewfinder, and end up with a crappy image because film is simply not up to capturing enough detail in the low light ? - or would you - b. rather compromise on the image seen through the viewfinder and end up with a high-quality image? If you answer a., I'd suggest your more into the equipment than you are photography - If you answer b., my guess is that what matters to you is the image. -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Adam Bridge Sent: Sunday, February 06, 2005 11:44 PM To: Leica Users Group Subject: Re: [Leica] 1Ds Mk II at ISO 3200 I think the 20D and 1Dsii use very much the same technology in terms of chip fabrication and post-processing. I would expect the 3200 and 1600 ISO performance to be similiar. The 1Ds has some very nice features. I like being able to use it in spot-meter mode and record several exposures to help find the best exposure, a feature I'm beginning to explore.
