If you should ever unplug the external hard drive and run Picassa, you will lose all of the image thumbnails for the external drive and you will have to rescan the whole thing all over again. Bill in been there, done that, Denver, CO -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+bill=photobynelsch.com@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+bill=photobynelsch.com@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Daniel Ridings Sent: Monday, January 31, 2005 5:43 AM To: lug@leica-users.org Cc: mugers@yahoogroups.com; rolleiusers@yahoogroups.com Subject: [Leica] Picasa : Hot tip ... If you use an external USB harddisk to store your scans, raw-files and what-not ... you might want to consider if you really want Picasa to scan the whole disk for files. I started up Picasa yesterday and my external disk was on. I had been doing some scanning. 24 hours later and it's still tugging away. USB 2.0 might be faster than USB 1.x ... but it's not _fast_. Man ... I had no idea I had so many pictures online. Daniel _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group. See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information
