My guess has to do with Nikon - it has absolutely nothing to do with my feelings about the R. As an observer of the photo scene I find the introduction at this point of a new high-end film 35 - from a company that already produces a terrific high-end 35 film workhorse, puzzling, to say the least. So the question is: What are they up to? All I've done is take a guess as to what they are up to. Whether I'm right, or totally and completely off base, only time will tell. The bottom line, however, is that it really doesn't matter to me - nor should it matter to anyone else - whether I'm right or wrong - I'm simply wasting time engaging in the same kind of mental masturbation that makes up about 90% of what goes on on this list - as in 'why is Lecia doing this? Why is Lecia doing that? Here's my wish list for the digital M! Here's what I think they're going to do with the M line...Blah blah blah. Interestingly, I never see you attacking people who engage in that kind of pure speculation... -----Original Message----- From: lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org [mailto:lug-bounces+bdcolen=earthlink.net@leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Doug Herr Sent: Wednesday, November 17, 2004 10:53 PM To: Leica Users Group Subject: Re: [Leica] RE: Re: Nikon's profits tripled It seems B.D. that the only basis you have for your guess it a perpetual anti-R prejudice as vitriolic as the one you presume I have for Leica-R.
