The three recent M7s and one MP I looked at all flared at the left and right edges of the rangefinder patch under the right conditions. This was a big disappointment since the flare in my Wetzlar M6 was annoying and I wanted a camera that was free of it. Strictly by chance I looked at Betriebskamera M7 in the same serial number range as these other cameras (2,88X,XXX) and it didn't flare at all. I bought it. This experience make me wonder if the residual flare in the other recent M7s and MPs isn't an alignment issue since I understand that the Betriebskamera models are all individually reworked before being put on the market, >Hello everyone, > >Today I've tried my new MP, a lovely instrument in the hands, but against >that I've read from Erwin Puts and others, the viewfinder has occasionally >still flare, in very rare occasions or points of viewing, and less than M6 >but I've been a little bit surprised, the better viewfinder was one of the >main reasons to decide me for a MP, everyone has the same experience? > >Another point I was surprised was with the Setting Dial for ASA/DIN, it's >only the ASA scale, it is not the usual dial ring as it was for M6 with ASA >& DIN. > >Luis > > >_______________________________________________ >Leica Users Group. >See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information -- Regards, Dick Boston MA
