Ha! Geophysics strikes again. Deconvolution is an age old process for 
extracting a clear seismic signal
from noisy data. I've been using it for 30 years now. It will certainly 
sharpen the signal but tends
to introduce random noise. What they need in addition is random noise 
attenuation.
Unless they have a totally new algorithm, decon will be whitening the 
whole colour spectrum ie adding noise to it across all frequencies. RNA 
is one of the few processes able to remove this unordered noise.
The combination of decon and RNA looks like a very good line of approach 
for image enhancement
