I raise the 'why' question in the hopes of understanding what's 'really'
happening here, because it's success or failure may ultimately depend
upon the answer to that question. "We" are not enough to keep any
serious venture alive. The market must be much bigger than "we."

I also ask "why" because "Something is happening here, and (I) don't
know what it is, do (I)" Mr. B. D.? And because I know that "there is no
success like failure, and failure's no success at all."

So did anyone read the Newsweek B. Dylan cover story, and, much more to
the point, the brief excerpt from the Dylan memoir being released on the
5th? Really fascinating - the excerpt, that is.

The point is who cares why? We have another entrant in an M mount with
some interesting lenses that will fit and work on our M's. Even better,
some one else is talking about a digital M mount camera. Obviously,
some people with money to invest in R&D are going to produce a digital M
mount rangefinder camera.

I would strongly suggest that we all save $3000-$5000 dollars for our
choice of M rangefinder and jump on them when they are introduced: just
in case no one else wants one, at least we will have ours. :)

A couple questions, thoughts -
- Is there any information regarding price? Which is to wonder whether
these lenses will be price competitive with Leica, with Bessa/Cosina, or
will they be at a price point unto themselves. In other words, will this
15 2.8 be an $8K lens, or will it be affordable.
- Too bad there is nothing faster than f 2

- It's great to see closer minimal focusing distances for these
rangefinder focal lengths

- My guess, and I obviously stress guess as none of us really knows
anything here, is that this is a preemptive move to try to secure a
marketing space for a digital rangefinder. I may of course be totally
off base, but I don't think this is really about competing for the
minute share of film rangefinder market.

Any thoughts anyone?

15/2.8 -- this may very well become the killer wide angle for the
digital M crowd... all in all this is great news for the M space.
