Remember what happened the one time Leica engineers got really innovative? That one time they ever so slightly changed the design of the M - as in growing it ever so slightly in order to produce the world's first rangefinder with TTL metering? It was called the M5, and it sank faster than a hamster off a Nantucket dock because the Leica fanboy base was appalled by the very idea of ever so slightly changing the design of the M....So if Leica wants to sell a digital M to the fanboys, it damn well better look precisely like today's Ms. After all, this isn't about photography - it's about "tradition." ;-) B. And it would be clunky. I'm guessing a add-on back would protrude a good 1cm off the back of the camera. I think they would be much better off designing a digital M from scratch. And frankly it doesn't have to look EXACTLY like the current M, close would be good enough. Feli _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
