Karen,
Using a Mac, I had a discrepancy between the image in photoshop CS and 
the printed image on my Epson 2200 until I started using Epson icc 
profiles for the paper AND, on the "View" menu >proof setup> custom... 
 > specific printer + paper with icc profile.
I am quite sure this is not your problem, but it is easy to check...
